What are the differences between a pea coat or peacoat and a trench coat?

A pea coat is usually made of wool, while a trench coat is made of combed cotton, is usually belted with removable inner lining, and is generally waterproof.

The trench was designed as a lighter alternative to greatcoats worn in WW1. The first designers are Aquascutum (1850s) and Burberry (1900s).

A pea coat was originally worn by sailors in the American and European navies. When worn by women, it may be called a 'Jackie O' jacket.

Nevertheless of it's history, both coats have been modernized to look as stylish, chic, and modern as ever. They can be found almost in any retail store in various colours, styles, and prices!
